Answers and screens inquiry calls, faxes, and emails from prospective clients and patients.
Communicates with other team members/departments constructively in order to reduce conflict and enhance the resolution of issues.
Displays the ability to communicate with others effectively, listen closely and convey points clearly.
Checks multiple electronic verification systems to verify current health insurance coverage.
Assists individuals without health insurance to apply.
Intake coordinators verify insurance for each patient.
This may include calling insurance companies to inquire about coverage and calling primary care doctors to obtain necessary referrals and authorizations.
Respects client or patient dignity and confidentiality.
Shows proficiency with computer programs which may include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and others Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and the ability to calm patients or clients who may be distraught and make decisions based upon anticipated outcomes.
Possesses the ability to adjust to constantly changing workloads.
